Nan has founded six businesses over the last forty-plus years including her current business, Nan McKay Connects LLC. NMC empowers women to become leadership savvy in their business or organization through speaking engagements, courses, books, podcasts, and YouTube channels. 

She is President of Nan McKay and Associates, a business she founded in 1980 that operates nationwide with ten offices. 

An inspiring speaker, Nan champions the creation of a successful path to reignite passion and purpose after retirement to make a difference in the lives of others.

She speaks on three pillars: Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Reignite Your Life with Significance After 60. 

She has a winning podcast on empowered women role models, TrailBlazers Impact, and two YouTube channels, Trailblazers Impact Interviews and Significance After 60. 

Nan focuses on women over 60 who want to use their knowledge and experience to change the lives of others by starting or growing their businesses. Nan works with women who want a realistic pathway to rock their retirement and manage their last 20-30 years to achieve significance, joy, and profit in their business.  

In 2018 she received the National Association of Women Business Owners' (NAWBO) Signature Award for Southern California, and in 2019 she was selected by NAWBO as the California Woman Business Owner of the Year.

She has received numerous awards for her leadership in affordable housing throughout the country. Nan has two buildings named after her in Minnesota, a 10-story elderly high-rise, the Nan McKay Building, and a family subsidized housing development, McKay Manor.
