Six years later she left NCAA with an MBA returning to Maryland with the goal of ensuring the welding business her father had founded would become sustainable for future generations. Here she found the opportunity to advocate clean energy in general, and offshore wind, in particular, leading the family business, Strum Contracting Co., to become the first certified minority business enterprise (MBE) in the nation to be awarded a construction-related contract for the new and exciting world of offshore wind development coming to the shores of America.
